Have you ever felt completely overwhelmed when life's storms hit without warning? Today we explore the profound shelter found in Psalm 46:1, where God promises to be our refuge and strength in times of trouble.

Storms in life share much with their weather counterparts—they're loud, unexpected, and completely beyond our control. They shake everything that once felt secure and expose our vulnerabilities in raw, uncomfortable ways. But the beautiful promise we unpack today reminds us that in these very moments, divine strength becomes most accessible.

What strikes me most about this verse is the immediacy of God's presence. Unlike human help that might arrive late or conditional support that depends on our worthiness, God stands ready at all times. He doesn't ask if you've earned His help—He simply steps into the storm with you. This is the profound comfort I want to share with you today: you don't have to be unshakable or have everything figured out. The invitation is simply to take shelter and let His strength carry you through.

Whether you're currently standing in the middle of a personal tempest or helping someone navigate through theirs, this message offers both comfort and practical spiritual guidance. Remember, you don't have to weather your storms alone. 00:00:07.394 --> 00:00:08.762
I'm Rick.

Join me as I dive into God's Word to find clarity and strength for life's challenges.

00:00:13.653 --> 00:00:19.484
Let me help you embrace each day with faith and wisdom, ready to feel inspired.

00:00:19.484 --> 00:00:21.070
Let's get started.

00:00:21.070 --> 00:00:25.614
Let's get started.

00:00:25.614 --> 00:00:34.487
Today is day 192, safe in the storm.

00:00:34.487 --> 00:00:42.267
From Psalm 46, verse 1, from the New Living Translation God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble, storms.

00:00:42.267 --> 00:00:50.984
They don't ask for permission, they show up out of nowhere, 're loud, they're unexpected and a lot of times they're out of control.

00:00:50.984 --> 00:00:53.389
They're out of our control anyway.

00:00:53.389 --> 00:00:59.543
Life storms are the same bad news, hard moments, overwhelming days.

00:00:59.543 --> 00:01:03.728
They roll in fast and shake everything that felt secure.

00:01:03.728 --> 00:01:10.837
But in Psalm 46, 1, we see something to hold on to when everything feels like it's falling apart.

00:01:10.837 --> 00:01:24.528
God is our refuge and our strength, not just our helper when things are easy, but our shelter when things are breaking, our strength, when we feel like we have none left, our anchor when the wind is howling.

00:01:24.528 --> 00:01:27.027
And he's not just nearby.

00:01:27.027 --> 00:01:28.646
He's always ready.

00:01:28.646 --> 00:01:31.406
He doesn't need time to think over it.

00:01:31.406 --> 00:01:35.828
He doesn't show up late, he doesn't ask if you've earned his help.

00:01:35.828 --> 00:01:38.388
He's ready to help the moment you call on him.

00:01:38.388 --> 00:01:40.322
Now.

00:01:40.322 --> 00:01:43.406
Maybe today you're standing in the middle of something that feels too big.

00:01:43.406 --> 00:01:47.730
Maybe your heart is weary from fighting battles that nobody sees.

00:01:47.730 --> 00:01:51.927
Maybe you've said I can't take much more of this.

00:01:51.927 --> 00:01:53.111
I've been there.

00:01:53.111 --> 00:01:58.986
But God sees it and he knows, and he's not far off watching.

00:01:58.986 --> 00:02:01.347
He's stepping into the storm with you.

00:02:01.347 --> 00:02:07.171
You don't have to be unshakable, you don't have to fix it all.

00:02:07.171 --> 00:02:19.778
You just have to take shelter in him and let his strength carry you through.

00:02:19.778 --> 00:02:26.600
Pray with me, god.

00:02:26.600 --> 00:02:26.942
I need you today.

00:02:26.942 --> 00:02:28.487
Today, the storms around me are loud and I don't always feel strong enough.

00:02:28.487 --> 00:02:29.611
Be my refuge and my strength.

00:02:29.611 --> 00:02:35.164
Help me to trust that you're near and that you're already working in ways that I can't see.

00:02:35.164 --> 00:02:38.430
In Jesus, precious name, I pray.

00:02:38.430 --> 00:02:40.086
Amen.

00:02:40.086 --> 00:02:45.687
Don't forget tomorrow and Sunday weekends with Lauren.

00:02:45.687 --> 00:02:55.009
Well, that's all for today, but I'll be back tomorrow with more of God's Word.
