Freedom takes on new meaning when viewed through the lens of faith. As fireworks light up the sky this Independence Day, we're diving deep into Psalm 119:45 to discover what true liberation looks like: "I will walk in freedom, for I have devoted myself to your commandments."

The world tells us freedom means no boundaries—doing whatever we want, whenever we want. But God's Word reveals a profound paradox: authentic freedom flourishes within the protective boundaries of divine truth. When we align our lives with God's ways, we experience liberation from the chains that truly bind us—shame, guilt, performance anxiety, and the endless pursuit of approval. This freedom operates at soul-level, empowering us to love fearlessly, forgive completely, establish healthy boundaries, and pursue lives marked by genuine peace.

What makes this spiritual liberty extraordinary is its permanence. Unlike political freedom, which depends on shifting circumstances, the freedom Christ offers cannot be legislated away or revoked by any earthly power. It remains accessible even in difficult circumstances because it transforms us from within. As we celebrate our nation's independence today, let's reflect on our spiritual freedom and ask ourselves: Are we truly walking in the liberation Jesus already secured for us? Or are we still living as though bound by chains He has already broken? Remember, you're not just a citizen—you're a child of God, and that's what makes you truly free.

Welcome to Wisdom for the Day, your daily source for spiritual refreshment and guidance.

00:00:07.394 --> 00:00:08.762
I'm Rick.

00:00:08.762 --> 00:00:13.653
Join me as I dive into God's Word to find clarity and strength for life's challenges.

00:00:13.653 --> 00:00:19.484
Let me help you embrace each day with faith and wisdom, ready to feel inspired.

00:00:19.484 --> 00:00:21.070
Let's get started.

00:00:21.070 --> 00:00:27.887
Today is Day 185, true freedom.

00:00:27.887 --> 00:00:38.692
From Psalm 119.45, from the New Living Translation I will walk in freedom, for I have devoted myself to your commandments.

00:00:38.692 --> 00:00:45.131
Today is a day of fireworks, flags and freedom.

00:00:46.161 --> 00:00:55.609
As we celebrate Independence Day in the United States, it's the perfect moment to reflect on a deeper kind of freedom, the kind that only comes through Christ.

00:00:55.609 --> 00:01:05.049
Psalm 119.45 links freedom not with doing whatever we want, but with living according to God's word.

00:01:05.049 --> 00:01:08.308
Now that may sound backward to the world around us.

00:01:08.308 --> 00:01:16.212
They say freedom is the absence of boundaries, but the Bible shows us that real freedom is found within the safety of God's truth.

00:01:16.212 --> 00:01:21.492
When we follow God's ways, we're not shackled, we're set free.

00:01:21.492 --> 00:01:31.344
Free from the chains of sin, free from the pressure to perform or to earn love, free from shame and regret and guilt.

00:01:31.344 --> 00:01:37.644
This is the kind of freedom that no earthly government can give and no worldly power can take away.

00:01:37.644 --> 00:01:41.674
In Christ, you are free to walk boldly.

00:01:41.674 --> 00:01:52.728
You're free to love without fear, free to forgive even when it's hard, free to say no to what harms you, free to pursue a life that actually leads to peace and joy.

00:01:54.620 --> 00:02:09.141
As we celebrate our nation's freedom today, take a moment to thank God for a freedom that goes even deeper, a soul-level freedom that lasts forever, and ask yourself am I walking in it?

00:02:09.141 --> 00:02:12.649
Or am I still tied up by something that Jesus already broke off?

00:02:12.649 --> 00:02:21.247
Because in his truth, you're not just a citizen, you're a child of God, and that's what makes you truly free.

00:02:21.247 --> 00:02:24.139
Pray with me, and that's what makes you truly free.

00:02:24.139 --> 00:02:33.301
Pray with me, lord, god, thank you for the blessing of freedom, both in this country and in my soul.

00:02:33.301 --> 00:02:37.247
Help me to walk in the kind of freedom that only comes from knowing and obeying you.

00:02:37.247 --> 00:02:47.522
Break every chain that holds me back and let me live boldly in your truth, in Jesus' precious name.

00:02:47.522 --> 00:02:47.763
Amen.

00:02:47.763 --> 00:02:50.709
Hey, don't forget tomorrow and Sunday.

00:02:50.709 --> 00:02:54.662
It's Weekends with Lauren, see ya?

00:02:54.662 --> 00:03:04.778
