Have you ever felt disconnected from your faith despite your best efforts? Lauren confronts this common but rarely discussed spiritual challenge in our weekend devotional focusing on Psalm 119:105. With refreshing honesty, she admits that even spiritual leaders don't always hear God clearly or have all the answers people expect them to possess.

At the heart of this episode is a powerful reframing of what genuine faith looks like. Drawing from the imagery of God's Word as "a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path," Lauren points out that ancient lamps didn't illuminate the entire road ahead—they provided just enough light for the next step. This becomes a beautiful metaphor for our spiritual journey, where God rarely reveals the complete picture but gives us exactly what we need for our next faithful move forward. The devotional challenges our natural desire for complete clarity, suggesting that mature faith often means learning to trust God in the not-knowing and staying grounded when emotions and circumstances feel unstable.

Perhaps most liberating is Lauren's confrontation of the lie many believers silently battle: that confusion or weariness signals weak faith. "Real faith isn't loud, it's consistent. It doesn't always feel confident, but it refuses to let go," she reminds us. This permission to be authentic rather than performative in our spiritual lives offers tremendous relief. The message culminates in the reassurance that messy seasons aren't failures but evidence of growth, that even in fog, God guides, and even when we don't feel it, He's planting us deeper. Listen now and discover how to stay rooted in reality while growing in faith, one illuminated step at a time. Want more daily spiritual encouragement? 00:00:18.324 --> 00:00:19.929
Let's get started.

00:00:19.929 --> 00:00:21.783
And now.

00:00:21.783 --> 00:00:23.408
Weekends with Lauren.

00:00:26.280 --> 00:00:29.190
Today is Day 158, rooted in the Real.

00:00:29.190 --> 00:00:33.932
We'll be in Psalm 119, verse 105 from the New Living Translation.

00:00:33.932 --> 00:00:38.130
Hey, it's Saturday and welcome to Weekends with Lauren.

00:00:38.130 --> 00:00:40.447
Let's be real for a second.

00:00:40.447 --> 00:00:44.390
Some days I wake up and don't feel spiritually rooted.

00:00:44.390 --> 00:00:53.023
You know like I don't always hear God clearly, I don't always know what he's doing and I definitely don't always have the answers people expect me to have.

00:00:53.023 --> 00:00:55.448
But I keep showing up.

00:00:55.448 --> 00:00:58.140
And that's what being rooted in the real looks like.

00:00:59.463 --> 00:01:05.495
In Psalm 119, verse 105, it says your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.

00:01:05.495 --> 00:01:08.409
And that doesn't mean it lights up the whole highway.

00:01:08.409 --> 00:01:13.090
It means God gives us just enough light for the next faithful step.

00:01:13.090 --> 00:01:17.587
And we all love clarity, we love to know what's coming next.

00:01:17.587 --> 00:01:21.871
But most of the time walking with God means trusting him in the not knowing.

00:01:21.871 --> 00:01:24.989
It means staying grounded when emotions swirl.

00:01:24.989 --> 00:01:29.490
It means learning to be okay with just one illuminated step at a time.

00:01:30.859 --> 00:01:31.602
And here's the lie.

00:01:31.602 --> 00:01:37.933
I've had to fight that if I'm confused or tired or unsure, I must not be strong in my faith.

00:01:37.933 --> 00:01:42.811
But real faith isn't loud, it's consistent.

00:01:42.811 --> 00:01:46.650
It doesn't always feel confident, but it refuses to let go.

00:01:46.650 --> 00:01:49.947
You don't have to fake joy to be faithful.

00:01:49.947 --> 00:01:52.388
You don't have to feel strong to stay rooted.

00:01:52.388 --> 00:01:57.091
You just need to return to the word every day and let it speak louder than your circumstances.

00:01:57.091 --> 00:02:01.028
Even in the fog, god is still guiding.

00:02:01.028 --> 00:02:04.829
Even when you don't feel it, he's still planting you deeper.

00:02:04.829 --> 00:02:25.180
And let's pray Amen.

00:02:25.180 --> 00:02:31.191
This is Lauren, and if today feels a little messy, you're not failing.

00:02:31.191 --> 00:02:32.373
You are growing.

00:02:32.373 --> 00:02:38.106
I'll see you tomorrow.

00:02:38.106 --> 00:02:39.008
That's all for now.

00:02:39.810 --> 00:02:42.854
