Day 122 You’ve Been Called | Ephesians 4:1

Day 122 You’ve Been Called | Ephesians 4:1

Send us a text

Have you ever stopped to consider that you—yes, you—have been divinely called? Not just the preachers or those with impressive spiritual titles, but every person who belongs to Christ.

As we begin a new month-long series called "Walk Worthy," we dive deep into Ephesians 4:1 where Paul, writing from prison, urges believers to "lead a life worthy of your calling." This powerful verse reminds us that we've each been called out of darkness into light, called to represent Jesus not just through what we say but through how we live every single day. The question that confronts us is both simple and profound: Are we walking in a way that reflects the One who called us?

Walking worthy doesn't demand perfection—which is good news for all of us. Instead, it requires intentionality. It means making decisions that honor God when nobody's watching, speaking words that reflect grace and truth when it would be easier to lash out, showing mercy when resentment seems more satisfying, and choosing obedience even when it costs us something. This episode launches our journey into understanding what it truly means to live in alignment with our divine calling. It starts with remembering a fundamental truth: before you did anything noteworthy, before you even knew who you were, God called you by name, by grace, and by love. Now it's time to walk like it. Join us daily this month as we explore practical ways to honor this calling in every area of life.

00:00:02.564 --> 00:00:07.394
Welcome to Wisdom for the Day, your daily source for spiritual refreshment and guidance.

00:00:07.394 --> 00:00:08.762
I'm Rick.

00:00:08.762 --> 00:00:13.653
Join me as I dive into God's Word to find clarity and strength for life's challenges.

00:00:13.653 --> 00:00:19.484
Let me help you embrace each day with faith and wisdom, ready to feel inspired.

00:00:19.484 --> 00:00:21.070
Let's get started.

00:00:21.070 --> 00:00:25.367
Today is Day 122.

00:00:25.367 --> 00:00:27.032
You've been called.

00:00:27.032 --> 00:00:30.489
From the book of Ephesians, chapter 4, verse 1.

00:00:30.489 --> 00:00:41.466
Therefore, I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God.

00:00:41.466 --> 00:00:46.284
Well, it's the start of a brand new month.

00:00:46.284 --> 00:00:50.213
Well, kinda, I'm a day off, it's the second.

00:00:50.213 --> 00:00:56.131
But today we begin a new journey under the theme Walk Worthy.

00:00:56.131 --> 00:01:00.191
The next 29 episodes will be based on that theme.

00:01:01.200 --> 00:01:02.145
Now, let's be honest.

00:01:02.145 --> 00:01:11.829
In a world full of distractions, fake versions of success and shallow validation, it's easy to forget what we've really been called to.

00:01:11.829 --> 00:01:16.932
But Paul reminds us in Ephesians 4.1 that you have been called by God.

00:01:16.932 --> 00:01:24.263
That's not just for preachers, that's just not for the few people who stand behind pulpits or wear titles.

00:01:24.263 --> 00:01:27.507
If you belong to Christ, you've been called.

00:01:27.507 --> 00:01:32.010
You've been called out of darkness, you've been called into light.

00:01:32.010 --> 00:01:38.475
You've been called to represent Jesus, not just in what you say but in how you live.

00:01:38.475 --> 00:01:48.441
So today's question is simple Are you walking in a way that reflects the one who called you?

00:01:48.441 --> 00:01:52.546
You don't have to be perfect, but you do have to be intentional.

00:01:52.546 --> 00:02:06.864
That means making decisions that honor God, speaking words that reflect grace and truth, showing mercy when it's hard, choosing obedience even when no one's watching.

00:02:06.884 --> 00:02:18.699
This month, we'll walk through what it means to live a life worthy of that calling, and it starts with one small step Remembering who called you.

00:02:18.699 --> 00:02:26.420
Let's pray, father, you called me before I even knew who I was.

00:02:26.420 --> 00:02:30.907
Remind me today that I belong to you and my life has purpose.

00:02:30.907 --> 00:02:41.848
Help me walk in a way that brings you honor, not just today, lord, but every day, in Jesus' name.

00:02:41.848 --> 00:02:41.968
Amen.

00:02:41.968 --> 00:02:52.913
Now you've been called by name, by grace and by love.

00:02:52.913 --> 00:02:54.400
Now go walk like it.

00:02:54.400 --> 00:03:00.740
Well, that's all for today, but I'll be back tomorrow with more of God's Word.
